Andrew F. Cates (Andy) is the Founder and CEO of RVC Outdoor Destinations (www.rvcoutdoors.com), the leading owner, operator, and developer of high-quality outdoor resorts in the United States. He is also the Managing Member of Value Acquisition Fund (www.valfund.com), an acquisition, development, and asset management company.

In 1999, Cates was the Founding Chairman and Project Developer of the Soulsville Revitalization Project (www.soulsvillefoundation.org), one of the largest inner city revitalization projects in the United States that includes The Stax Museum, Soulsville Charter School, and Stax Music Academy. In the summer of 2000, Cates worked with a team of business and civic leaders to attract the Vancouver Grizzlies National Basketball Association franchise to Memphis, Tennessee and was a Limited Partner in the original ownership group.

Cates began his real estate career in Dallas working for the Trammell Crow Company and Crow Investment Trust (now Crow Family Holdings) as a member of the team responsible for partnership and loan workouts, office and industrial acquisitions, asset management, and commercial real estate development. After leaving Crow, Cates was a founding partner in Viceroy Investments, LLC based in Dallas, Texas and is currently a partner in two Viceroy sponsored partnerships.

Cates served on the Board of Directors of Pioneer Natural Resources (NYSE:PXD) from 2009 – 2020. Over his more than eleven years of service, Pioneer was the top performing energy stock in United States. Cates also served on the Board of Directors of PICO Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PICO) from 2016 – 2017 where he helped lead a turnaround that resulted in a 55% increase in the stock price over his 18-month tenure.

In 2018, Cates founded Memphis Fourth Estate, Inc. (www.memphisfourthestate.org) which created and now oversees The Daily Memphian (www.dailymemphian.com), the largest locally oriented “digital newspaper” in the United States. He currently serves as its Board Chairman.

Cates earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) degree at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to currently serving on the Memphis Fourth Estate board, he serves on the boards of the Myelin Repair Foundation and Memphis University School.

Lloyd oversees all operations of RVC, bringing a fresh perspective and preparing the company for unprecedented growth by recruiting new talent, establishing best in class Accounting and Administrative Systems and ensuring that all operational areas of the company align with the company’s strategic vision. Lloyd’s sense of adventure and his passion for expanding customer satisfaction at every touch point perfectly aligns with RVC’s core mission of providing an outdoor destination experience, with the blend of location, accommodation and modern amenities.

Lauland is a 36 + year hospitality veteran who joined RVC after a highly successful tenure with Interstate Hotels & Resorts in several executive management roles including Vice President of Operations and Executive Director of JHM Interstate India. During the five years he led JHMI India, the company established itself as a true pioneer in third party hospitality management and grew from one management contract to thirteen, before returning to the States. During his career is has worked for such prestigious international and independent brands as Hyatt, Four Seasons, Hilton, Marriott and the historic Brown Palace Hotel in Denver.​

When not busy with RVC, Lloyd and his wife Linda, stay busy keeping up with their two grown sons, and Lily, their three-year-old yellow lab who Linda is training to become a therapy dog.​

Matt Uselton

Executive Vice President

Matt is responsible for leading RVC’s real estate acquisition, development and asset management efforts. His career in finance and commercial real estate has also included mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation strategy, disposition, project management, property management, financial analysis and modeling, data analytics and appraisal. Upon graduating from the University of Memphis with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance, Matt worked as a commercial real estate development analyst with Loeb Properties before joining Valbridge Property Advisors, the largest independent commercial property valuation and advisory services firm in the nation, as a Senior Analyst and Registered Appraisal Trainee.​

Outside of work, Matt is a professional musician with a career spanning over 10-years as a live and studio guitarist along with years of teaching, song-writing and studio production. He is a native Memphian who enjoys spending his time with his wife Alison and their two daughters, Eliza and Charlotte.

Mary Jean Campchiaro

Corporate Controller

As RVC’s Corporate Controller, Mary Jean is responsible for all company accounting systems and financial reporting functions. She is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a BBA in accounting. Mary Jean comes to RVC with over 32 years of hospitality accounting experience.

Mary Jean leads RVC’s Accounting team. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting. Before joining RVC, Mary Jean was Vice President of Hotel Accounting at Davidson Hotel Company, overseeing the accounting and reporting functions of 30+ hotels. When the company relocated, she joined McNeill Hotel Company as Vice President – Accounting, setting up the accounting processes and assisting in growing the company from one hotel to over 20. ​

Outside of the office, Mary Jean enjoys spending time with her family.​

Accounting Manager

Cory serves in our accounting department and oversees the financial reporting functions for all RVC resorts and business entities.

Cory joined RVC after two years at ALCO where he worked as a Portfolio Accountant for over 30 apartment complexes across the United States and a Property Administrator for the Housing Corporation at First Tennessee.

Cory earned his BS in Accounting from the University of Arkansas and enjoys exploring pet-friendly craft breweries with his rescue dog “Bella”.

Kathy Allen - Call Center Director

Director of Call Center Operations

Kathy Mccurrie Allen directs RVC Outdoor Destination’s Call Center for all RVC’s resort locations across the United States. She comes to RVC with over 17 years of experience in Operations Management and Training in a Call center environment, industry concentration in pharmacy billing, and contracts.

Before transitioning to RVC, Kathy was Sr. Contract and Reimbursement Manager with Accredo and Express Scripts Pharmacy. She managed the insurance revenue department where her proficiencies included:  Reimbursement Hubs, Pharma Manufacturers, Government State benefits, Group Purchasing Organization, and Direct Pharmacy benefit liaison.

Kathy loves spending time with her husband and their rescue Labrador Retriever Pullium, she continues to write short stories reflecting on her travels and experiences of the world.
