Like you, we love pets! That’s why RVC Outdoor Destinations wants campers to know all about pet friendly travel for RV and cabin guests to ensure the whole family can go on an adventure. Before booking a stay at an RV resort or campground, it’s important that you make sure you’re allowed to bring your furry sidekick along and review their pet policy. Here are some things you should know to make planning your pet friendly vacation easier.

Where to Find Pet Friendly RV Sites and Cabin Rentals

Fortunately for pet parents, there are plenty of options for pet friendly RV sites and cabin rentals across the country. Take your dogs to explore the Great Smoky Mountains all day and relax under the stars into the night at your peaceful RV site. Are you more of a beach person? No problem! Enjoy the beautiful Florida Panhandle and soak in the rays any time of the year in a cozy pet friendly cottage. Whatever your camping style, there are many choices out there for you and your pets.

Examples of Pet Policy Guidelines

While furry friends are often welcome at RV resorts and campgrounds, there’s usually a pet policy you’ll have to follow. Here are some examples of pet policy guidelines from our campground in Hot Springs, Arkansas to give you a better idea of what to expect when you stay at a pet friendly campground.

  • Let us know that you’re bringing pets via online reservation or phone
  • A non-refundable cleaning fee of $35 for one to four-night stays, or $65 for longer stays
  • There is a $150 damage deposit for pet friendly cabins that will be refunded if there’s no damage
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times outside and accompanied by the owner
  • Pets left alone in a cabin must be crated for everyone’s safety
  • Pets are not allowed in the Pool Area or Playground, however, they’re welcome to play off-leash in the Bark Park
  • Please clean up after your pet(s), we provide potty bags for your convenience—a $50 clean-up fee will be charged each time we need to clean after a pet
  • If your pet becomes too un-neighborly (e.g. excessive barking, growling), you may be asked to leave without a refund
  • For cabins, please cover the sofa or any furniture your pet may want to sit on with a pet blanket

RV and cabin pet guidelines are meant to ensure everyone at a campground resort has a great stay. If you have any questions about pet friendly RV sites, cabins, cottages, or yurts, please don’t hesitate to contact our trip concierge.
