Lake Raystown Resort, a resort lodge and conference center in Entriken, Pennsylvania, is proud to announce their sponsorship of the 2017 Lake Raystown Triathlon, which will be held at the Lake Raystown Resort on May 21st.
The Lake Raystown Triathlon offers three different race lengths for this swimming, cycling, and running an athletic contest: Sprint, Olympic, and Half-Ironman (or Triathlon 70.3).

The swim course will be held in beautiful Lake Raystown. As for the bike course, it will follow much of The Fisherman’s Tour road cycling route. This ride will take athletes through many quiet and scenic areas, including rolling and flat terrain, with numerous long climbs and fun descents. The pavement quality is good, and average posted speeds range from 25 mph to 45 mph.

The run route is mostly flat and will take participants back out of the resort on the high-quality pavement with minimal terrain change. Interested athletes can view/download the Course Maps here. Scheduled race events begin at 7:00 AM, with the official start of the race at 9:00 AM.

“We’re very excited to host our Lake Raystown Triathlon once again,” said Kristin Medellin, Group Sales Director at the Lake Raystown Resort. “With over 118 miles of shoreline and 8,300 acres of water, the Lake Raystown Resort is a truly amazing location for a triathlon. Athletes and attendees from the Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington D.C. metro areas will be pleased to note that Lake Raystown Resort is centrally located, and an easy drive from all points. This is our fourth year hosting the triathlon, and rain or shine we’re going to have an amazing event. And what I love about the Lake Raystown Triathlon is that athletes can stay with us the night before, or the night after, enjoying our beautiful grounds and amazing amenities if they don’t want to just come in for the day.”

Interested athletes can visit www.lakeraystowntri.com for more information about the race, race registration, the weekend schedule, frequently asked questions, and everything anyone would need to know about the Lake Raystown Resort itself. “As a resort, it’s truly awesome,” said Medellin. “The resort features top-rated accommodations, fun activities for the whole family, and so many amenities.”

And it’s true! Lake Raystown offers athletes the opportunity to stay in our natural resort accommodations, which include rustic camping cabins, beachfront bungalows, cottages, and villas—something for anyone interested in making their race weekend a real getaway. The Lake Raystown Resort’s gourmet dining will provide options for everyone, too, from healthy pre-race meals to indulgences for athletes who have just expended massive amounts of energy. Participants will enjoy the experience of making their best time into a bit of “rest time” at the Lake Raystown Resort. Visit the official Lake Raystown Resort website for more information.
