Are you a camper or a glamper? Whether you are an avid outdoors person or just enjoy a quiet stroll through a natural landscape you can find something about staying in the great outdoors that you will love. However, you may not be suited for roughing it. Glamping, or glamorous camping, is a new trend and is on the rise in the outdoor world. These are a few key differences between camping and glamping.

1. What you will stay in

Camping: Tent camping includes bringing your own tent and setting it up in a remote location to experience nature in its most simplistic form.

Glamping: Yurt Glamping includes a framed shelter already set up in a natural environment with amenities such as a refrigerator and electricity. It is also only a few miles from restaurants and attractions.

2. Where you will sleep

Camping: Tent camping involves a sleeping bag on the ground under the stars.

Glamping: Yurt glamping includes a comfortable queen size bed with clean sheets under a see-through dome looking up at the stars.

3. Where you will use the restroom

Camping: Take your pick of the best tree in the forest while camping. Camping has many benefits of getting back to nature but this is not one of them.

Glamping: Take your pick of the best stall in the woodsy themed restroom while glamping.

4. How you will cook

Camping: Collecting firewood and roasting marshmallows over an open fire is a great way to enjoy camping.

Glamping: RV glamping is a great way to have your roasted marshmallows and eat a home-cooked meal too.

5. How you will shower

Camping: Most campers don’t shower at all, it comes with the fun of camping. However, there are a few portable ones if you cannot stand the smell any longer.

Glamping: Glampers, on the other hand, have fully functional bathrooms, generally with at least nice showers. This Beach Retreat comes with a spa-like retreat you can enjoy.

6. How you will make your coffee

Camping: Everyone needs their coffee in the morning. While you are camping you have to brew some over the campfire.

Glamping: While glamping you get to enjoy a complimentary bag of coffee in a pot at your cabin?

7. How you will control the temperature

Camping: There are a few ways you can control the temperature in a tent. You can open or close the tent flap, use a lighter or thicker sleeping bag, or wear lighter or thicker clothing.

Glamping: You don’t have that problem when you glamp though, there are air conditioning and heating units in most accommodations.

8. Where you will store your supplies

Camping: When you camp you have to either hang your supplies or put them in your car to keep nosy neighbors away.

Glamping: When you go glamping you just place everything in your cottage, yurt, or RV. You even have a refrigerator for your food and a dresser for your clothes.

9. What you will eat for dinner

Camping: Camping food is an experience you will not want to miss. Hot dogs, s’mores, or even dutch oven cooking is delicious.

Glamping: Glamping makes cooking much easier. Most yurts, RV sites, and cabins have a grill or oven to use, as well as a refrigerator which gives you a wider variety of foods you can store.

10. How you will get your water

Camping: When camping you want to find the nearest clean stream to find your water, and even then you may need to filter it or boil it to be safe.

Glamping: Most glamping accommodations come with a water source with filtered water available.

11. Who your neighbors will be

Camping: You never know what kind of furry and feathered creatures you will meet while camping.

Glamping: You also never know who you will meet while glamping, many people make friends for life during their glamping experiences.
