Fun Things to Do

Yosemite has many amazing local activities and attractions! You’ll never be bored here, whether you stay on-site at the campground or venture out a little further into town. For example, Yosemite RV Resort’s amenities include fire pits, a swimming pool, a children’s playground, a pet play area, and a retail shop.

At Yosemite National Park, you can enjoy popular hiking trails that offer stunning views of Yosemite Falls, Merced River, and more. There are so many natural wonders, such as Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Mariposa Grove, and Ansel Adams Wilderness.

Plus, you can also go on Jeep tours, winery tours, or biking tours around the area. (The wine trails are especially great for adult-only trips!)

Safety First

As with any camping vacation, it’s important to prepare for any situation. Whether you’re staying active outdoors or visiting local spots, here are some things to keep in mind on your Yosemite RV camping trip.

Medical

Plan for any bumps or bruises by packing a first aid kit, preferably one small enough to carry with you. Also, bring any necessary medications, pain relievers, antihistamines, and fever reducers.

Bugs and sun

Be sure to pack your bug spray and bug bite ointment, especially for the warmer months. Sunscreen is also a  must at any time of the year! Make sure to reapply it throughout the day to prevent painful sunburns.

Injuries

Bandages of all sizes will come in handy, especially if you’re camping with children. You should also pack burn ointment, hot/cold packs, and disinfecting wipes to alleviate pain and prevent infections.

Seasonal Considerations

May through September are some of the best times to go camping in Yosemite because of the weather, especially since the snowy, winter months can close some paths. Plus, you get longer days for more exploring!

The downside of summer is that it’s the busiest season, which means more crowds and higher campground rates. Consider RV camping in spring and fall where you can appreciate mild weather and the gorgeous colors of nature.

Where to RV Camp in Yosemite

From its natural wonders to an abundance of activities, going on a Yosemite camping trip will be an unforgettable adventure! The only thing left to do is to determine where you’ll park your RV camper.

Since Tuolumne Meadows, Bridalveil Creek, and Crane Flat campgrounds are closed for renovations, you should check out Yosemite RV Resort. The campground offers easy access to the national park, thoughtfully planned RV sites, and numerous amenities to enjoy. Make your reservation today!
